Trick or Treat!? This week's Friday Funny...

BOO!! It's Howl-o-ween weekend Puppy Lovers!! Who's dressing up? Mr Buzz and Miss Hunbun have their Halloween bandanas ready and also a special treat for the 31st... a Vampire costume for Buzzy and a Pumpkin for little missy. Piccies will be coming, no fear!! Happy Friday Puppy Lovers! We hope you've had a fab week in the sunshine? It's been absolutely wonderful! As the weather starts to cool down again from today, we are already getting ourselves ready for the winter hibernation...

Yay...we admit it... we are addicted to the Saturday & Sunday night goodness that is Strictly Come Dancing & the X Factor *blush*
All the beautiful dresses on Strictly send me into a tizwoz - esp as the seamstress in me stands up and coos over the hours of work and skilled quality put into each outfit and wonders about it's construction. Hosted by the legendary Bruce Forsyth (whose dad did the wedding cars for my Nana's wedding would you believe?!) and beautiful Tess Daly, this years line up includes footballer Robbie Savage, Neighbours & now Fosters ad star Holly Valance, Lulu, Russell Grant & McFly star Harry Judd. Now last week, they were all very good....especially Mr Jason Donovan! But we think if the judges got a look at this little chap, he would be stiff competition for even the professional dancers!! Showbiz Saturday: X Factor 2011, it's New Judges & their dogs!

Tonight the X Factor starts again on ITV and it's all change this year with 3 new judges joining Louis Walsh on the judging panel... Take That's *cue girly scream* Gary Barlow, gorgeous international superstar Kelly Rowland & the beautiful Tuilisa Contostavlos from N-Dubz. It's cycle 8 so it's good to see some new input and a fresh panel... plus, just like Cheryl Cole and Sharon Osbourne before them , the girls are animal lovers! Check out Kelly's adorable Yorkshire Terrier and Tuilisa's gorgeous staffie girl:

Meanwhile, Louis' pets, Jedward, are currently taking part in Celebrity Big Brother on Channel 5! Lols!

Showbiz Saturday: Britain's Got Talent Dog Act Finalists

Happy Saturday everyone! This week's Showbiz Saturday post is dedicated to home-grown showbiz doggies... Unless you've been living in a cave (international Puppy Love-rs excused of course! ;) ) the last few weeks you'll know it's been all about Britain's Got Talent in the run up to the big final tonight. With acts such as Michael Collings, Razy Gogonea & much talked about in the press, 12 year old Ronan Parkes, it should be a great final...but we feel that the great British public have let us down with their voting habits yet again...there are no doggie acts in the final!!! *sniffles* Here is our little shout-out to all the gorgeous doggies who took part ... you're all totally P-AWESOME winners to us!!!! 

Pip & Puppy

Pip and Puppy were in the top 3 last night but the judges chose singer Michael Collings to go through to tonight's final. Absolutely gorgeous Pip and even more gorgeous Buddy wowed Simon Cowell, who wanted both acts to go through. As Pip sings note-perfect beautiful opera, little Buddy throws back his adorable little head and sings along. Soooo cute! We love you both & look forward to seeing more of you on the telly box!!

Angela & Teddy

12 year old Teddy the poodle is not the best doggie dancer in the world but he is definitely the cutest! In his twilight years, he is doing a brilliant job of jumping and reversing around objects and the piece du resistance... pushing giant balls and as shown here baskets! We think after his spot in the limelight, Teddy now needs to go home and have lots of relaxing time full of cuddles and treats and naps. Love you Teddy!

Donelda Guy with Mega & Biba

Mega & Biba are just soooo clever! And beautiful! We love their little sparkly anklets. Dog trainer Donelda Guy put on another brilliant show with the girls on Monday's semi-final. Dancing to Shirley Bassey singing Pink's 'Get the Party Started' the act was just so glam and fun! 2 of the best doggie dancers we've ever seen! Wooo... GO Mega & Biba!!

Mexican Mayhem

Mexican Mayhem are a fun little trio - Melanie and her two adorable little Chi's, Twizzle & Tucker. Melanie belongs to a training club and paid tribute to the late-leader of that club in Thursday's semi-final. Now, for us, what makes this act so fun is little Twizzle's complete headstrong minxyness!! It must come with the curls as our little curly madam is also rather minxy... whilst Tucker negotiates her obstacle course as directed by Melanie, Twizzle is having NONE of it!! Lols. We did think the loud bangs and pyrotechnics were a little unsettling for these two at the end of the act though and hope that they got lots of TLC when they got home.  Ai Chihuahua!! 

The Britain's Got Talent final is live tonight on ITV 1 at 7pm. x x

Wow, it's been a SUPER busy week here this week at Puppy Love HQ! We have been stocking up for the summer shows,  making bandanas for Greyhound Rescue Shropshire & Borders & Chasing Tails, visiting Rodney & Lubo AND gone into our very first independent stockist, Beanos near Hampton Court in London! More on that coming soon... It's sooo exciting!

After all that craziness we have really enjoyed searching through all the amazing animals clips & pictures on t'interweb but this one was our fave today... Sooo sweet!! Enjoy! x x

Royal Wedding bandanas SOLD OUT!

Only 3 more sleeps until the big day... we bet Kate and Wills are getting excited now for their big day! Nervous too! We have been sewing like crazy here at Puppy Love HQ making our Union Jack print Royal Wedding bandanas and have sold so many that we are now completely SOLD OUT! If you would like a Best of British bandana, we will be getting more fabric in next week but for delivery by Friday, as Bugs Bunny would say, 'That's all Folks!'.

We are sooo looking forward to adding more pics to the Customer Gallery and are so excited and honoured to know that on Friday so many doggies across the country will be sitting down to watch the wedding in their Puppy Love bandanas and having lots of fun at all the street parties they are going to... let's hope there's lots of left over nommies! BoL! 

It's all getting very patriotic with the flags going up along the routes in London and it really is nice to see the country getting excited and the media covering something lighter. We don't like to be ostrich-like but sometimes all the horrors of the world can get you down and it's nice to have some light-relief. How lovely do all the flags look on Regent Street?!

Do sooo hope the day goes off without a hitch as there are fears about protests and violence from opposing political & religious extremists .... makes us angry! How disrespectful can human beings be sometimes?! *Hmpfff*

Good-Friday Funny: Easter Bunny Doggies! As chosen by Buzz.

Hi everyone! Buzzy here! I do hop(e) everyone is having a wonderful Good Friday and enjoying the lovely weather. Me and my sisfur have been sunbathing a little this afternoon, nice! But Mummy and Michaela been keeping an eye on us and keep dobbling our noses with suncream!! I keep trying to lick it off of mine but my tongue isn't always long enough to get it all! BOL! Mummy says this is a good thing though!

Pooch-friendly Pancakes

Today is Shrove Tuesday and that can only mean one thing....PANCAKES! Yummy! Here's a recipe for poochy pancakes as all that sugar we put on ours (eeek...calorific!) is not good for doggies. Enjoy! x x

INGREDIENTS:

• 2 large eggs
• 1 cup milk
• 1 1/2 tablespoons butter, melted, or vegetable oil
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 1 cup whole wheat flour
• 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• Cooking spray

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat a griddle, a pan, or a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. 

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, butter and honey. Gently whisk in the 2 flours, the baking powder and cinnamon.

Spray the griddle/pan with cooking spray. Drop the batter, 2 tablespoons at a time, onto the greased griddle/pan; cook until bubbles begin to form and break, about 3 minutes and then flip and cook until brown on the bottom, about 2 minutes.      Voila!

Forget the Super Bowl XVL ... It's all about the Puppy Bowl VII on Animal Planet!

This weekend is the NFL Super Bowl which sees the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers at The Cowboys Stadium in Dallas....but we're not interested in a bunch of big hyped-up guys crashing into eachother are we?! Nooo... bring on the Puppy Bowl VII instead! So much more entertaining! So much more cuteness!!

For the 7th year, Animal Planet has put together an alternative game for Super Bowl weekend, featuring puppies from shelters to raise rescue awareness and have some fun. Kitty cat cheerleaders, chickens & bunnies have all featured over the years & this year is set to be the best yet. Check out the starting line-up:
