Spooktacular Halloween dog bandanas & this week's Friday Funny!

Wow...Friday again already! Is someone spinning the earth faster or something?! This week has flown by here at Puppy Love HQ where we have been busy making lots of spooooky skull and blood curdling bat bandanas for Halloween...which is only a couple of weeks away now! Dutch Dogs, Sailing & Sewing

It's that time of year again already... Back to School. How times flies! But for us it has been Back to Sewing!! We had a fab time in Holland visiting Dad and learning to sail :) We even met this handsome chap who has years more experience sailing than we do... he has been sailing for 13 years!! Wowza! That sea-air must be good for you huh?! We met him in the harbour at Lelystad which was the first harbour we moored up in on our 3 day sailing trip. He had a fab bright orange doggie life jacket-coat which I must say was not only good to see for his safety but also looked very fetching & cosy. 

Infact, in general, the Dutch seem to be big animal lovers! We saw sooo many gorgeous dogs out running alongside their owners' bicycles, in little baskets on the front or in trailers behind... and of course just w-a-l-k-ing the usual way! And did you know...there is a tax on dogs in the Netherlands which is paid annually and calculated according to the number of dogs in the household. We are not sure whether this is a good thing or a bad thing.... whilst promoting responsible dog ownership we fear it may also mean that the rescue rate is low and abandonment rates high. What do you think?

Football Team Dog Bandanas

Today the Barclays Premier League started again! For this Arsenal-loving household it was not really the start we had hoped for... sendings off, saying bye to Cesc Fabregas & Samir Nasri and an injured Jack Wilshere BUT for all you other football supporters out there we hope you enjoyed the first game of the 2011/12 season! 4th July Independence Day Fun Dog Piccies!

So yesterday was Independence Day in the USA (and also Papa Miller's birthday... Happy Birthday to him!) and we had a very busy bustling day sewing, birthday greeting, catching up with our lovely neighbour Alicia who just got back from Barbados *lush* all whilst trying to catch up on orders from the weekend and stock up for the big show on Sunday at Kenilworth Dogs Trust. But we did take a minute to check out our American cousins in their Stars & Stripes & here are some of our faves:

Royal Wedding bandanas SOLD OUT!

Only 3 more sleeps until the big day... we bet Kate and Wills are getting excited now for their big day! Nervous too! We have been sewing like crazy here at Puppy Love HQ making our Union Jack print Royal Wedding bandanas and have sold so many that we are now completely SOLD OUT! If you would like a Best of British bandana, we will be getting more fabric in next week but for delivery by Friday, as Bugs Bunny would say, 'That's all Folks!'.

We are sooo looking forward to adding more pics to the Customer Gallery and are so excited and honoured to know that on Friday so many doggies across the country will be sitting down to watch the wedding in their Puppy Love bandanas and having lots of fun at all the street parties they are going to... let's hope there's lots of left over nommies! BoL! 

It's all getting very patriotic with the flags going up along the routes in London and it really is nice to see the country getting excited and the media covering something lighter. We don't like to be ostrich-like but sometimes all the horrors of the world can get you down and it's nice to have some light-relief. How lovely do all the flags look on Regent Street?!

Do sooo hope the day goes off without a hitch as there are fears about protests and violence from opposing political & religious extremists .... makes us angry! How disrespectful can human beings be sometimes?! *Hmpfff*

Britain's Got Talent Dancing Dogs and our new 'I've got Talent' bandana for your dog!

Britain's Got Talent started again at the weekend with new judges Michael McIntyre and David 'The Hoff' Hasselhoff joining Amanda Holden on the panel. We loved singer Michael Collings who did a SuBo, stunning everyone with his amazing voice, and Steven Hall who did a dance-medley of moves to famous tunes. But without a doubt, the stars of the show were Mega and Biba and their mummy & handler, Donelda Guy:

Just 18 days to go until the Royal Wedding on April 29th... Is your dog ready?

We have missed u! We have been neglecting our poor blog for the last few weeks... we have been sooo busy though helping poor Mum sort out her disaster area of a bathroom *loong story which includes burst pipes and a soggy house!*... buying new fabrics & getting together our AW10 collection for you... and being throughly emersed in a series of books by the amazing author, Sunny. More on them in a later post as soo much to say...  but for today... a sneaky peak at some of our new fabrics!

We have also got some seasonal prints in...including sppoookkky Halloween & Christmas! Can't wait to get some fab items made up in them... will keep you posted!! :) x x

A Busy Weekend!

Phew...! We have been rather busy again this weekend... in between dodging the ma-husive thunder storm & bucketfuls of rain mother nature bestowed  on us, we have made a new batch of scottie dog cushions, oilcloth pegbags & have trialled a new product... the draft excluder!! Pics of that to come in the next few days!!

We also rehomed this not-so-little guy from the Cancer Research Charity shop.... 

His name is Henry and he is our new Large & Extra Large bandana model!! You can meet him on our stall at this Sunday's Northampton Market Dog Show & the Jerry Green Fun Day on August 29th ♥

You may have been wondering how Buzz is getting on with his Poochie Bells ... well he has given them his 1st cautious little nudge so we think he is making progress... yaay! Although the rain is still a problem - he just hates it & it's such a problem when trying to get him out *sigh* but we will get there. Honey on the other hand is not at all scared of water...but is scared of the Poochie Bells so we are working on getting her used to them! xx

Wayne Rooney & Wellingtons

Wayne Rooney has spent £10k on underfloor heating for his doggies! Aww! Nice that they be kept nice and warm in their kennels... nicer still if they kept warm in the house but.... at least showing some love for them all the same! I wonder if he would like some of our "I ♥ MAN UTD" bandanas?

We went to the Northampton Umbrella Fair this afternoon on the Racecourse & got a chance to wear our new wellies! Yaay! The fair is only in it's 2nd year and is focussed on all things natural & earthy and a nice change from all the commercialism found at the Balloon Festival.  We met some nice Etsy sellers & also tried some yummy 'raw' chocolate... mmmn! xx

Barkin' Busy!

Phew... what a week! Have been very busy bunnies here @ PUPPY LOVE HQ getting ready for Sunday! Less than 24 hrs to go now until Dog's Trust Salisbury Fun Day!! Very excited!! We have lots of new products to take with us including a big new batch of bandanas in Sailor Jerry style tattoo (pink & navy), Nautical, Camo, Tinkerbell prints & lots lots more... also our new "Race Cars not Greyhounds" Shoppers! Plus our staples of Oilcloth Pegbags, cushions, collars, jumpers & coats :)

Not only are we looking forward to seeing all the gorgeous DT doggies & activities going on throughout the day, but a little birdie told us that Mr Anthony Head a.k.a Giles (!!!) of Buffy Fame will be there. Sooo excited!!! There is also going to be real life storm-troopers around! Really looking forward to it. All set now, just need to do our stringent quality control & get the car loaded up ready to go. Then going to have a nice girly (Lee is at Arsenal today helping his Dad on the market stall ... it's the Emirates Cup! Yaay!) relaxing afternoon with Buzz & Honeybun and catching up with everyone... including those doing the Saturday Blog Hop! xx

How time flies!!

Oh how time flies!! Where has this week gone?! Lols. I can hardly believe it is Friday again. we have had a productive week here... now have lots of new designs & products ready for next weekend's Dogs Trust Fun Day. Here is a little taster:

PUPPY LOVE has joined Flickr at last. I have always had huge affection for Photobucket & love to make slideshows but I love the idea of adding locations to our pics and you can now see our complete gallery, including product shots etc, by clicking on 'PHOTOS' in our fantastic new Wibiya toolbar!  The toolbar is packed with great features so be sure to try it out - it includes direct links to the Puppy Love Facebook Group and even has a live chat!

Last night we also took part in our very first #keepfits on twitter! Sooo much fun!! Every Thursday night @henryandfriends / @henrysteiff takes a fun "keep fits" class for all anipals! Full of lovely people, it's a great way to make new twitter friends! xx

NEW!! Special Greyhound & Lurcher Collection

Today I have been making bandanas for our new collection... Greyhound & Lurchers! Being so slender & graceful Greyhounds & Lurchers can be hard to find collars & bandanas for as they often need an in-between size... having beautiful long slender necks on tall bodies! So I decided to make them their very own collection of Puppy Love! All of our designs are available in Greyhound & Lurcher sizes and will be available on our stall @ Salisbury and coming soon to Ebay & Etsy. xx

Dog's Trust Kenilworth Open Day

We had a great time today @ the Dog's Trust Open Day! Thankyou so much to Helen & the team there for being so welcoming & putting on such a brilliant show. It was great to see all the doggies out for the day and wearing their cute yellow Dog's Trust bandanas and OUR Puppy Love bandanas (!!!). It was fantastic to get such brilliant feedback from people - all of you that we spoke to... THANKYOU! Loved meeting our new customers & their owners... I have got some little stunners to add to the gallery too. Thankfully, the weather was beautiful (I was worrying yesterday about the prospect of soggy bandanas!) and it was such a lovely atmosphere - we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves meeting everyone and browsing and buying from other stalls. I also 'released' a Rainbow Brite sprite teddy from the Rabbit & Guinea Pig stall which was the cherry on the top of a gorgeous day... I have wanted one for 22 years...since I was 4!!  Lols. xx

SEW Busy!!

I have been sooo busy these last few days getting ready for Sunday's Fun Day @ The Dogs Trust that I just haven't had a chance to post!! But I have got lots of new designs ready... including Pirate & Sleepy Dogs bandanas & cushions!! I managed to get some cotton in the same print as the oilcloth I use for my pegbags in red tones & greens! They are looking really cute. I also made some bunting for my stall & 2 little knitted jumpers which if I say so myself really are adorable! I do hope everyone likes the new designs - I have been sewing my little socks off. Infact, as I was searching for a smoking sewing machine graphic to make you smile, I came across this beeeauty of a sewing machine!!

I'm sure it's not as clever or precise as my trusty Janome 1580 but as anyone who knows me will verify... I am the biggest sucker for Hello Kitty!! Love Love LOVE her!! xx
