Jennifer Aniston has bought a fab new penthouse apartment in New York which is just down the road from the famous Friendsbuilding!!! And...the best part.... she bought it using the savings trust she set up in her doggie's name! The Norman's Nest Trust is named after Norman, her adorable little corgi-terrier cross. Such a cute name for such a cute lil dog... We can't decide who looks more gorgeous in this pic of the two of them:
We hope that she and Norman are very happy in NYC - she sooo deserves it! And there must be some left over in the trust for some new treats & toys for Norman?! She must have change from $6 million right? :P Maybe she would like one of our new 'Home Is Where My Dog Is' draught excluders as a housewarming gift?
Today we have a new feature for you... Showbiz Saturday! Instead of gossiping about what the celebs are doing with their glamorous selves, we want to know what their dogs have been up to...and we bet they could tell us a few fur-raising stories about their celeb pals!!

See...You have to SMILE for the Paparazzi mama

We have been having a fab time this weekend with Dad, who is visiting until Monday! It is the first time we've seen him since he had cancer and we are sooo pleased to see he is looking really well! He has put on 8 kilos and had the first of his check-up tests come back clear and looking good! We cannot thank his surgeon enough for saving my Daddy back in December. Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men and we hope that his story and fast recovery can inspire other men diagnosed with Prostate Cancer that having the operation is something to go for as soon as you can!! There is nothing to be scared of and any side-effects in THAT area are not forever. Infact, March is Prostate Cancer awareness month and if you need to find out more or want to donate, check out www.prostate-cancer.org.uk. Spread the word!
We are also doing the Saturday BlogHop this week...as co-hosted by Two Little Cavaliers, Life with Dogs and Confessions of the Plume . We love meeting new furriends and finding fab blogs across the globe! Be sure to check outat least 3 from the list after the jump and we promise you won't be disappointed!! :) Enjoy! x x

Whilst checking through the daily pet news this morning, we found a rather disturbing article in one of the 'great' British tabloids (The Sun) saying that Dachshunds or as they are affectionately known 'Sausage Dogs' were on the endangered list?! And none other than rock and roll superstar, Liam Gallagher, was planning on championing their cause! He and Nicole Appleton own a little doxie called Ruby and last year he was the face of PupAid. Thankfully...after some frenzied internet research, we can't find any evidence of the adorable breed being endangered! *phew* In fact, in the USA, these cuties are one of the most popular breeds :) We thought, what with it being #sossidgesaturday on twitter... it was the perfect day to highlight the breed. Here are some p-awesome facts about the gorgeous Dachshund:
The name Dachshund comes from Germany and means literally 'Badger Dog'... doxies were bred for hunting back in days gone by! Yet...in Germany, they are more commonly known as Dackels.
Dachshund paws are especially shaped for digging!
Some people race their Dachshunds...we don't know quite how we feel about this. If doggies genuinely enjoy chasing and are well looked after, it can be a fun experience for them but we HATE racing for the number of doggies left homeless or worse once their careers are over.
The German Olympic Games in 1972 chose a Dachshund as their mascot! His name was Waldi.
Some more news for this Saturday morning is that we are taking part in the Saturday Blog Hop brought to you by Two Little Cavaliers, Life with Dogs, and Confessions of the Plume! Find some other great Pet blogs by following the links after the jump! > >
This weekend has been the special Pedigree Adoption Drive Blog Hop. For every blog post made Pedigree will donate a 20lb bag of dog food to an animal shelter!! What a brilliant idea! Animal shelters are always under a great deal of financial pressure no matter how big or small & donations like these will make a big difference :)
Each year, more than 4 million dogs end up in shelters and breed rescue organizations. Pedigree created The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive to help shine a spotlight on the plight of these homeless dogs.
This year the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive is raising awareness for homeless dogs by donating a bowl of food to shelter dogs for everyone who becomes a "Fan" or "Likes" the PEDIGREE Adoption Driveon Facebook. So far more than 1 million bowls have been donated.
Special for BlogPaws West: For each blog that posts about the PEDIGREE Adoption Drive through September 19, PEDIGREE will donate a bag of its new Healthy Longevity Food for Dogs to shelters nationwide. It's simple: Write a post, help a dog.
Thursday, September 16 through Sunday, September 19, the Pedigree BlogPaws bloggers will host a Blog Hop to help raise awareness for the "Write a post, help a dog" effort.
Be sure to pass the message on by blogging, tweeting & facebooking with the hashtag #dogsrule :) Join up to the blog hop too after the jump... xx
